Fit2Ride utilises a wide area of cycling-related activities to help you to become a fitter, better and stronger cyclist.Incorporated into Dont Push IT in 2005, Fit2Ride is co-ordinated by British Cycling Coach & National Standards Instructor, Jodi Vickery (Currently National Ladies master cross-country Mountain Bike Champion 2006).
Fit2Ride Spinning (indoor cycling)
Running weekdays between 6.15pm and 8.15pm in one-hour slots for groups of six people at a time, the spinning class caters for a wide range of people from all ages, sizes and abilities, in a very personal and professional atmosphere.
The simulated cycle exercise is all done to music, providing a fun & social alternative to standard exercise. Each one hour session starts with a warm-up period of about ten minutes in length. After this, the instructor takes the class on a simulated ride; each bike has a resistance-controlling lever so that every student can control the amount of pressure required to turn the pedals to the beat of the accompanying music.

Spinning Positions
At various points in the session, the student is asked to perform additional tasks such as:
Seated Road - Used during a warm-up & cool-down. Participants employ a fast lef speed with a small amount of resistance on their dials in a seated position.
Seated Climb - Derived from the seated road riding position, this movement is designed to simulate riding uphil in a seated position. Participants will gradually increase resistance to increase exercise intensity.
Standing Climb - Students progress to a standing position and increase resistance to simulate a standing hill-climb. This will often be perfomed in reduced-rate intervals of returning to the seated climb position.
Freeze - Hold the upper body still whilst focussing on the pedalling technique. Hold this position for a few seconds at a time to add to the intensity of the exercise.
Jumps - Jumping involves moving rhythmically and repeatedly between a seated and standing position. Usually for four or eight beats(revolutions) at a time, returning to the saddle after each set.
Rhythm Press - Seated - Raise and Lower upper body in time with the music. Students inhale as they lower, exhale as they rise. Standing - Performed by softening of the elbows whilst bending the body from the hip over the saddle, using the same breathing exercise.
